The short version

TiviMate is a television-first IPTV playerfor Android TV. Install it from Google Play, or from the developer's own APK on devices without Play (Fire TV being the common case), then add the M3U, Xtream Codes or Stalker Portal details your provider gave you. It ships with no channels of its own, and a Premium upgrade unlocks app features — never content.

🔑 Key points

  • Built for Android TV and a remote — the developer says it is not optimised for phones or tablets.
  • There is an official APK on the developer's own site, so there is no reason to use a mirror.
  • Companion is not a player; it handles Premium activation and device management.
  • There is no official Windows, macOS or iOS version.

Most IPTV players are phone apps that someone has stretched onto a television. TiviMate went the other way: it was built for the living room first, around a remote control and a channel guide, which is why people who move to it from a phone-shaped app tend to notice the difference immediately. That focus is also the source of most of the confusion about it — what it runs on, what the paid version buys you, and why there is a second app in the store with a similar name.

What TiviMate actually is

TiviMate is an IPTV player published by Armobsoft FZE. It takes a playlist you already have and turns it into something that behaves like television: a programme grid, favourites, search, catch-up where your provider supports it, recording, multiview and parental controls.

The player is not the service

The developer states this more plainly than most: TiviMate is a media player only, it provides no content, it is not affiliated with any content provider, and to watch anything you must add your own playlists. It also spells out that a paid subscription or Premium upgrade unlocks application features only — it does not include or provide access to any channels, streams or media. Install it and you get an empty, well-designed shell waiting for credentials.

Which devices support TiviMate?

This is where expectations most often go wrong, so it is worth being precise. The developer describes the app as designed for Android TV and remote-control navigation, and explicitly says it is not optimised for touch devices.

PlatformStatusHow it is installed
Android TV / Google TVThe intended platformGoogle Play, or the developer's APK
Fire TV / Fire TV StickAndroid-based; no Google PlayDeveloper's APK, via the Downloader app
Android phones & tabletsInstalls, but not optimised for touchGoogle Play
Windows / macOSNo official app
iPhone / iPad / Apple TVNo official app
Samsung & LG Smart TVsNot an Android TV platform

If your television is a Samsung or an LG running the manufacturer's own system, TiviMate is not an option — an inexpensive Android TV box or Fire TV Stick plugged into an HDMI port is the usual way people get there.

How to install TiviMate

Android TV / Google TV

  1. Open the Google Play Store on the device itself.
  2. Search for TiviMate IPTV Player and confirm the developer is Armobsoft FZE before installing — checking the publisher takes a second and rules out look-alikes.
  3. Install, then open it. The first screen asks for a playlist, which is the next section.

The developer also offers a direct APK from its own site and notes that this build has fewer restrictions and checks for its own updates. Either route is legitimate; Play is simply the more convenient one when it is available.

Fire TV / Fire TV Stick

Fire TV has no Google Play, so the app is installed directly. The developer publishes an official Downloader code for exactly this, which means you never need a third-party APK site.

  1. Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore if it is not already there.
  2. In Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options, allow Downloader to install unknown apps. If you do not see Developer options, open Settings → My Fire TV → About and select your device name several times until it appears.
  3. Open Downloader and enter the developer's official code 272483, or type the address tivimate.com/apk directly.
  4. Let the file download, choose Install, and delete the installer afterwards to free space.
  5. Turn the "install unknown apps" permission back off once you are done.

Because the developer distributes its own APK, there is no good reason to download TiviMate from a mirror, a file host or a "modded" build — and several such sites rank prominently in search results. A repackaged installer is the main way people end up with something other than the app they wanted.

How to add your IPTV service

The developer lists support for the common playlist formats: M3U, Xtream Codes and Stalker Portal. Which one you use is not a preference — it is whichever your provider issued you.

  • Xtream Codes: a server address, a username and a password. Type the address exactly, including the port, and leave off any trailing slash.
  • M3U: a single playlist link. If your guide is supplied separately, you will also need to add an EPG source before the programme grid fills in.
  • Stalker Portal: a portal address, usually paired with a device MAC value your provider recognises.

Give the first load time to finish — large channel and film libraries take a while to populate, and an app that looks stuck is often still working through the list. After that it is worth setting up favourites and hiding the categories you will never watch, because a tidy channel list is most of what makes a player feel fast.

There are no example credentials in this guide. Any set published online is either invented or someone else's — and if you are tempted by a free playlist you found on a forum, our guide to the risks behind free M3U playlists explains why they rarely end well.

TiviMate Premium

TiviMate is free to install and offers a paid Premium upgrade as an in-app purchase. Two things about it are worth stating clearly, because both are commonly misunderstood.

  • Premium unlocks app features, not channels. The developer says so explicitly. Paying for Premium while having no IPTV subscription leaves you with a better-equipped empty player.
  • The free/paid split is set by the developer and changes over time. Rather than repeat a feature list that may already be out of date, install the free version, use it for a few evenings, and see which prompts you actually hit. That tells you whether the upgrade is worth it far better than any article can.

We are deliberately not quoting a price. Cost varies by region and by the plan chosen, and it changes; the figure shown at the point of purchase is the only one worth trusting.

What is TiviMate Companion?

Companion is a separate app from the same developer, and the single most useful thing to know is what it is not: it is not an IPTV player. The developer states this outright in the app's own description.

What it is for:

  • Unlocking Premium functionality on devices that do not have Google Play — Fire TV being the obvious example.
  • Managing the devices you have activated.

So it is a utility that sits beside TiviMate, not a second way of watching. Installing Companion on a phone and expecting channels to appear is a common disappointment, and one the store description is at pains to prevent.

TiviMate on Fire TV

Beyond the install itself, a few Fire TV specifics are worth knowing:

  • Storage fills fast. The cheaper sticks have very little free space. Delete APK files after installing and clear the app cache occasionally.
  • Premium activation goes through Companion, since there is no Google Play billing on the device.
  • Updates are manualwhen you have sideloaded the app — the developer's own build checks for updates itself, which is one practical argument for using it over a mirror.
  • Wired beats wireless where the option exists. On a stick with only Wi-Fi, position matters more than people expect.

Setting up a different player on the same device? Our IPTV Smarters Pro on Firestick guide covers that route and its precautions separately.

TiviMate on Windows or PC

The short answer: there is no official TiviMate app for Windows, macOS or iOS. It is distributed through Android channels, and the developer describes it as intended for Android TV devices.

This matters because the search results suggest otherwise. Desktop "app catalogue" sites list TiviMate as though a PC version existed, and the Microsoft Store carries at least one unrelated player with a near-identical name — a single letter apart. Neither is the app described on this page. If someone hands you a "TiviMate for PC" download, it is either an Android emulator wrapper or a different product entirely.

If what you actually want is IPTV on a computer, use a desktop player built for it. Our guide to IPTV Smarters Pro on Windows walks through that properly, including Windows 11 display and firewall quirks.

Common problems

The playlist will not load

Test the same link or credentials in another player. If they fail there too, the problem is at the source, not in TiviMate. If they work elsewhere, re-add the playlist and check for a stray space or a missing port in the server address.

Login is rejected

Retype the details rather than pasting, since copied text often carries a trailing space. If they are definitely right, ask your provider whether the subscription is active and whether you have hit its simultaneous-device limit — an account already streaming elsewhere can look exactly like a wrong password.

The programme guide is empty

An M3U playlist often carries channels only, so the guide stays blank until an EPG source is added. Ask your provider for their EPG URL, add it, then allow time for the first download. Mismatched channel identifiers can also leave individual channels without a schedule while the rest populate.

Buffering

Narrow it down before changing settings. If one channel stutters while the rest are clean, suspect the source; if everything stutters, look locally — other devices saturating the connection, a weak Wi-Fi position, or an ageing stick short on resources. Adjusting the buffer helps a marginal connection; it will not fix an overloaded server.

Recordings fail or stop early

Recording writes to local storage, and the small sticks run out quickly — check free space first. Recording also depends on the stream staying available for the whole scheduled window, so a source that drops mid-programme leaves a truncated file.

The app will not open, or Premium is missing

Restart the device first. If Premium features have disappeared, confirm the activation against the account you actually purchased with — on a device without Google Play this is handled through Companion, and signing in with a second account is a frequent cause.

TiviMate vs IPTV Smarters Pro

Both play the same streams from the same credentials, so picture quality is not the differentiator — the source decides that. What differs is where each one is comfortable.

Neither is universally better. If your viewing happens on a television with a remote, TiviMate's interface is the one built for that job; if you need the same subscription on a laptop and a phone as well, a player that exists on those platforms matters more. Many people simply use both, since the credentials work in either.

Frequently asked questions

Is TiviMate free or paid?

Both. The app itself is free to install, and a paid Premium upgrade is offered as an in-app purchase. The developer decides which features sit behind that upgrade and can change the split between versions, so the reliable answer is to install the free version and see what it does for you before paying anything.

How much does TiviMate Premium cost?

We are not quoting a figure here, because prices change and vary by region and by the plan you pick. The current cost is shown at the point of purchase inside the app or on the developer's own site — check it there rather than trusting a number in an article, ours included.

Does TiviMate include any channels?

No, and the developer is unusually direct about it: TiviMate states it is a media player only, provides no content, and that a paid upgrade unlocks application features only rather than any channels or streams. You supply your own playlist from a provider you already subscribe to.

Does TiviMate work on a Firestick?

Fire TV devices run a version of Android, and the developer publishes an APK plus an official Downloader code for installing it directly, which is the usual route on Fire TV. That is the method described in this guide. As with any sideloaded app, install it from the developer's own source rather than a mirror.

Is there a TiviMate app for Windows or PC?

There is no official Windows, macOS or iOS version. TiviMate is distributed through Android channels and the developer describes it as intended for Android TV devices. If you want IPTV on a PC, use a desktop player instead — our Windows guide covers that.

Does TiviMate work on phones and tablets?

It can install on Android devices, but the developer states plainly that the app is designed for Android TV and remote-control navigation and is not optimised for touch devices such as phones or tablets. Expect an interface built for a remote and a big screen, not for a touchscreen.

What is TiviMate Companion for?

It is not a player. The developer describes it as an app for unlocking Premium functionality on devices that do not have Google Play, and for managing your activated devices. You still watch everything in TiviMate itself; Companion only handles activation and device management.

Which playlist formats does TiviMate support?

The developer lists support for the common IPTV playlist formats: M3U, Xtream Codes and Stalker Portal. Which one you use is decided by your provider, not by preference — enter whichever details they issued you.

Can I use TiviMate on more than one device?

The app can be installed on several devices, but a Premium upgrade is tied to activations that the developer manages, and Companion exists partly to let you see and manage those activated devices. Separately, how many streams you can run at once comes from your IPTV subscription's own device limit, which is a different restriction entirely.

In short

TiviMate is a strong choice when your viewing happens on a television and you want something that behaves like one. Install it from Google Play or the developer's own APK, add the playlist details your provider gave you, and treat Premium as an upgrade to the app rather than a route to content.
