IBO Player Pro turns up constantly on Smart TVs, usually because a provider told someone to install it. It is a capable enough playlist player. The difficulty is that "IBO" is attached to several apps, several websites and several store listings with different names, and almost every support question about it — activation failing, a download that will not install, a licence that does not carry over — traces back to someone following instructions written for a different app.
What is IBO Player Pro?
IBO Player Pro is a media player for IPTV playlists. You give it an M3U playlist and it presents the channels, films and series that playlist points at, with favourites, parental controls, multiple resolutions including 4K, and the option to hand playback to an external player such as MX Player or VLC.
The app is not a TV service
The developer puts it bluntly on its own homepage: it does not sell or offer any content, streaming, channels, movies or series, and advises using your own legal lists. Its FAQ goes further, warning against buying the app at all if you have no playlist, because no content is included after activation. Paying to activate buys you the software, nothing more.
Important: several apps use similar IBO names
This is the part worth reading twice, because it explains most failed installs. At least two distinct products circulate under near-identical names, each with its own site, download and activation method.

The naming spreads further once you reach the app stores. The listing IBO Player Pro links to on Google Play appears under the name Ib Player, while its Apple listing is ibo Pro Player — and the publisher names differ between those two stores. None of that is necessarily improper, but it does mean the app you are looking at may not carry the name you searched for.
Before troubleshooting anything, open the app on your device and note the exact name it shows, then use the matching website. A licence, a playlist entry or an activation from one product will never work in the other, and support teams cannot help with an app that is not theirs.
IBO Player Pro's own FAQ opens with the question "Which domain should I use?", and answers that iboplayer.pro and iboproapp.com function identically while recommending iboproapp.com going forward, with an older domain being retired. If the vendor needs an FAQ entry for it, the confusion is real.

Availability on any given store can change, and a very old television may not be able to install current apps at all — check on the device itself before assuming.
Where to download IBO Player Pro
Prefer the official store for your platform. It is simpler, it updates itself, and it removes any question about what you have installed.
- Smart TV, phone, tablet, Apple TV, Roku, Windows:search for the app in that device's own store. On a television this is the only sensible route — there is no sideloading involved.

Two practical cautions. The vendor's site currently offers its Samsung and Windows downloads through link shorteners, which hide the destination — use the store listings instead, where you can see the publisher. And avoid third-party APK mirrors entirely: an official download exists, so a repackaged one has nothing to offer you.
How activation works
The two products handle this differently, which is why activation instructions found online so often fail.
IBO Player Pro — account and in-app purchase
- Install the app and open it. It shows a device identifier on screen.
- Register free, then add your playlist — either inside the app or through the vendor's playlist-management portal on its website.

IBO Player — MAC address and licence
The separate IBO Player app identifies devices by MAC address and gives a seven-day trial from installation, after which a licence must be bought to carry on. Its own FAQ points out that a television has two MAC addresses, one for Wi-Fi and one for Ethernet, and that switching connection type can register the second one — a common reason a working setup suddenly asks to be activated again.
Never post your device identifier, MAC address or activation code in a public forum or a review, and never enter them on a site you reached from a search advert. Use the portal linked from the app's own official site.
Is IBO Player Pro free?

IBO Player's site states there are no refunds after purchase, and IBO Player Pro's FAQ says payment will not be refunded if you buy without a working list.
How to configure your IPTV service
Adding an M3U playlist
These apps are built around M3U playlists. You supply the playlist URL your provider issued, give it a name, and let the app load it. Playlists can be added on the device or through the vendor's web portal, which is far easier than typing a long address with a remote — arguably the main reason the portal exists.
Expect a pause on every launch. The developer explains that the app reloads the list from your provider's server each time it starts, so a slow start is usually the source responding slowly rather than a fault in the app.
What about the TV guide (EPG)?
Both apps answer this the same way in their own FAQs: there is no integrated EPG system. If your provider runs an EPG-ready service, guide data will appear; if it does not, no setting inside the app will conjure one. IBO Player Pro on Samsung and LG
This is where these apps are genuinely useful, because Samsung and LG televisions do not run Android and cannot install most IPTV players. IBO Player Pro is listed in both stores, so installation is ordinary: open the TV's app store, search, install.
- Note the device identifier shown when the app first opens — you will need it to activate.
- Add the playlist through the web portal rather than typing it on the TV remote.

- The app can hand playback to an external player such as MX Player or VLC, which sometimes fixes a stream the built-in decoder struggles with.

A Microsoft Store listing exists for IBO Player Pro, and the separate IBO Player publishes its own Windows x64 build for Windows 10 and later, alongside macOS and Linux versions. So a PC version is genuinely available — just be sure which of the two you are installing.
That said, these apps are designed around televisions, and on a computer they can feel like what they are: TV software running in a window. Common problems
Activation fails or is not recognised
First confirm which app you have and that you are using the matching website — this is the most common cause by a wide margin. Then check the device identifier on screen against the one you entered, character for character.
It worked, then asked to be activated again
If you changed the television between Wi-Fi and a network cable, the app may now be seeing the second MAC address and treating it as a new device. Switching back to the original connection type is the quickest way to test that theory before contacting support.
The playlist will not load
Open the playlist URL in a browser: if it fails there, the problem is at the source. If it works on a computer but not on the TV, the vendor points to two usual causes — a different network or ISP-level blocking, and the television not supporting that stream format.
The app freezes on startup
The developer notes the app reloads your list from the provider's server on every launch, so a large or slow playlist makes startup feel frozen. Give it time before force-closing, and consider trimming an oversized playlist.
No programme guide

The app stopped working after a while
Check whether a trial has simply expired, whether the app needs updating, and whether your playlist is still active. Because these are separate things — app licence and IPTV subscription — either one lapsing produces a blank screen that looks identical.
